REGENERATION > Jan - May 2005

As the fishing communities were particularly hard hit, GOAL distributed nets and provided materials for the repair of damaged canoes and boats.
In Hambantota and Matara districts GOAL established boatyards where local fishermen were provided with the tools and materials to repair their canoes.
In addition to other donors and with €1 million funding from the staff and company of Allied Irish Bank, GOAL distributed nets and repaired or replaced many engines among the affected communities.
