A young man dies in Kibumba refugee camp. Kibumba was 28kms from Goma town and just 3kms from the Rwandan border. The nearest fresh water supply was 30kms away, the earth was volcanic hard and there was a complete absence of sanitation. To cap it off the camp was situated beneath an active volcano. If one was to pick the worst spot on the planet for a disaster to unfold then this was surely it.
