A Remarkable Festival

Wexford Festival Opera produced a special book of over eighty photographs by Pádraig Davif Grant in a 120pg sewn softback with French flaps. Published on October 1st 2002 it contained an introduction by the renowned author Colm Tóibín. Additional photographs in the book were made by Anna Papaconstantinou.

The exhibition photographs in this book are on permanent exhibition at the Theatre Royal, High Street, Wexford, Ireland home of the Wexford Festival Opera

"Artists from all over the world perform rarely heard operatic gems in the intimate Theatre Royal every year in October during the Wexford Festival Opera in the south east of Ireland. I was born on the same street in Wexford that is the home of the Festival, and I have been on familiar terms with it all of my life. So it was therefore a test to photograph the familiar and the simultaneously exotic."
