Pádraig Grant

I am a photo-journalist,  a street photographer

and a project photographer.

Ten books of my photographs have been published

and many exhibitions have been held.

I started my career as a serious news freelance photo-journalist in 1987.

I have been commissioned by all the major Irish and international newspapers and magazines including the New York Times and The Sunday Times (UK) and Irish Times and Sunday Tribune (Ireland).

Additionally, I receive commissions from publishers

and creative bodies to work on various photographic briefs such as event documentation and press publicity photography.

See PHOTO-JOURNALISM

In my photographic world I make expressive,

simple images and create my own clichés.

I travel to search for universal themes;

it is my desire to hunt for images in every part of this wonderful world.

I am convinced that all human conditions, interactions and daily dramas play out right in  front of us.

The whole world is right there to be grasped

whenever and wherever we may be.

We just need to be receptive to it.

"....for the passionate spectator, it is an immense joy to set up house in the heart of the multitude, amid the ebb and flow of movement, in the midst of the fugitive and the infinite." Charles Baudelaire
